Club foot is a congenital condition which means that it exists at the time of birth. It involves one or both feet and ankles being in an equinus, varus and plantar flexed position, meaning that the foot is in-turned with toes pointed.

Club foot can be corrected with a series of casts and boots and bars in the first weeks after baby is born and the vast majority of children can recover completely. Treatment involves babies/children wearing the boots and bars for several years to prevent re-lapse.
